Unofficial Google Blog reveals feature for users to download search history

Unofficial Google Blog reveals feature for users to download search history, Google Takeout, Google search history, download google search history, Gmail
An unofficial blog, Google Operating System, has revealed a feature that enables users of Google's search engine to download their entire search history.

Only searches associated with a Google account are available to view, so users must be logged in to their Google account when they are conducting the search and have the save search history feature turned on.

It is highly likely that most search results will be available for users to view being as many users are logged on already to their Google accounts when using their computers or other devices.

All users will need to do to access their search history log in to Google's support pages with their Gmail account. They can also download other information held by Google to a .zip file and have the information emailed to their Gmail account - web searches and other information can be deleted.

This feature is part of Google Takeout, which is designed to allow users to transfer data away from Google so it can be utilised with other services.

Although it is a move that many would welcome given concerns surrounding transparency, but many may wonder why this has not been advertised more openly, especially as Google Takeout has been operational for four years.

Windows 10 launching earlier than planned

Windows 10 launch date, Windows 10 launching July 2015, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 10 operating system, computer news, Microsoft, microprocessors from Intel
Is Windows 10 now launching July 2015?

Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system will be now launched earlier than expected, at the end of July 2015 according to AMD CEO Lisa Su.

The date was revealed in a recent conference call, where she revealed that the company was looking forward to the second half of 2015 after the release of Windows 10.

Su said that she expected sales to pick up as companies and individuals were making delayed purchasing decisions, partly down to ongoing uncertainty surrounding Windows 8.1.

Lisa Su said;

"What we also are factoring in is, you know, with the Windows 10 launch at the end of July, we are watching sort of the impact of that on the back-to-school season, and expect that it might have a bit of a delay to the normal back-to-school season inventory build-up.”

Although the official launch date has not yet been confirmed by Microsoft, it was previously expected that the release Windows 10 would coincide with the microprocessors from Intel launch, which should be in August or September.

Windows 10 will be available as a free download to anyone who is already running Windows 7 or Windows 8.x.

Windows 10 is hoping to be a move to a more serviceable model, with Windows running on PCs, smartphones, servers, and other devices sharing roughly the same code base. The idea is that apps developed on one version of Windows can be easily run on any other version, aside from any power requirements that may be necessary.

Google releases gadget to turn TV into a computer

Google releases Chromebit gadget to turn TV into a computer
Reports from the BBC and The Telegraph have confirmed that Google will soon be releasing a HDMI dongle that will be able to transform any TV or monitor into a computer.

The Chromebit is new technology that will enable people to display in Google Chrome operating system.

The quad-core Rockchip 3288 processor Chromestick will also act as a USB port that will connect to other devices.

As well as converting the screen, there will also be 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM and Bluetooth connectivity according to a report from the Mirror.

Users will have to be connected to Wi-Fi as it runs on the Chrome operating system, but for those who can’t afford the smart TV option, this gadget will be a handy tool. It will also be a desktop upgrade option and could be a useful piece of technology for schools and businesses.

Although there have been no UK price announcements as yet, it will be sold in America for $100.

The reports follow the recent opening of London’s Google Shop that was opened in Tottenham Court Road just weeks ago. The shop sells Google products and offers tutorials for clients.

The new high-tech release from Google is touted as "the perfect upgrade for an existing desktop and will be really useful for schools and businesses" according to Google.
